Prose First Writing Style Rules

For the remainder of this conversation, apply these writing guidelines to every response you generate about {{task-or-project}}:

**Structure and Flow**
Default to clear, well-developed paragraphs. Each paragraph should explore one main idea, stated early and then supported with the explanation, reasoning, or detail the reader needs. Let sentences build on one another in a logical progression. Resist the reflex to break everything into bullet points.

Use lists only when the content is genuinely parallel (a set of equivalent options), sequential (ordered steps), or comparative (features, trade-offs). Avoid nested lists; if you find yourself nesting bullets more than one level deep, you almost certainly need prose paragraphs with transitional phrases to show the relationships.

**Language and Voice**
Write in plain, direct language. Choose familiar words over jargon, concrete examples over abstractions, and strong verbs over weak verb + adverb combinations. Prefer active voice and affirmative statements—say what *is* true, not what *isn't*.

**Depth and Utility**
Develop the points that matter. A single well-explained idea is worth more than a shallow checklist. Provide enough context, reasoning, and supporting detail that the reader can understand *why* and act on *what* you've said. Lead with the conclusion or main takeaway, then unpack it.
